The Drive In is a comic strip about two guys, Richard Kennedy and Frank Worthy making the daily commute and tackling life. Richard and Frank live in the ‘burbs and work together in the city. Sometimes the normal happens and sometime something else happens…
Richard and Frank go through the grind like everyone else, dealing with the same people and the same shit and the same shit people that everyone deals with.
FAQ
Q – Is the whole comic strip going to take place in the car?
A - No. It’s almost 50/50. My initial intention was to have to whole thing in the car, but I quickly decided that that would be limiting.
Q – How long does a strip take you?
A – If it’s a one panel strip. Drawing and clean-up take about an hour if they are in the car. If it’s an out of the car strip, than it take about two hours. If it’s an in the car strip, it needs a background, the road or street. These I spend about 30 minutes on this or so. Then everything gets assembled on the computer. Frank and Richard need to be cut out to be placed in the car, I do this digitally, and so computer time is usually between one and two hours. If there are more panels in a strip, then everything increases. So the short answer is, on average, around four hours for a one panel strip.
